New VENOM Lineup Make Live Debut In Newcastle, England: Video Posted Online
April 15, 2004The current lineup of VENOM — bassist/vocalist Conrad "Cronos" Lant, drummer Antton and latest addition, guitarist Mykus — made their live debut at Trillians in Newcastle, U.K. on Monday, April 5 when they hit the stage at the end of DEF-CON-ONE's set (featuring Antton on drums) to play an impromptu rendition of their 1982 classic "Black Metal".
After the show, Cronos was approached by a guy from a video production company who caught the event on camera. Apparently, he and his mates had gone for a drink in the bar after a day's filming and luckily had their cameras with them. The footage of the special occasion can be seen here (Windows Media player required).
As previously reported, VENOM are in the process of writing new material which is being described as "very much in the vein of the early VENOM — ferocious, raw and deeply Satanic, with a 21st century production and 25 years of experience."
VENOM, who are in the process of negotiating a new recording deal, released their last studio album, "Resurrection", in 2000.
